Have you ever had to descale a boiler tank on a commercial appliance? How many of you have to strip most of the machine down or invent a way to pour descaler directly into the boiler? Most of us have done it and many of us have suffered the burns from the acidic descaler at the same time. Well with the BWT BestService, those days have gone.
BWT BestService in action
The BWT BestService is part of the BWT Water Filtration range, it's essentially a blank cartridge, an empty cartridge waiting to be filled with your chemical or solution. Coupled up with the BWT cartridge head and setup, it enables a quick, efficient and safer way to force descale into a boiler, tank or vessel.
The BWT water filter range is very popular in the UK coffee machine market along with a growing market fitted to various pieces of commercial catering equipment such as combi ovens, water boilers, glasswashers and other boiler equipped appliances. The BWT BestService a great choice for the service engineer to keep in the back of his van as it will directly fit the many installed BWT water softener setups. And if the current setup is not a BWT, no problem, with a BWT head, 2 hoses and 2 couplers you can break into any existing setup in minutes.
Do you currently offer a descale on a service?
Do you offer your customer a descale on a service? How do you actually descale the water boilers? Or do you ever descale the boilers? Well now its actually possible without the hassle and it will give you the edge over your competitors. As service engineers we all know that a heating element covered in scale doesn't operate efficiently, scaled boiler vessels and probes cause numerous issues and in general equipment is overall less efficient.
By installing the BWT BestService inline of the water supply and filling the BestService cartridge with a descale solution will allow you to descale your equipment safely. Simply attach the BestService cartridge filled with a descale solution (in the below video we used a red descale solution so we could see when its been forced into the boiler) and operate the machine as normal. When a dishwasher runs a cycle, on its rinse cycle the descale will enter the boiler and will be subject to the boilers heat, the heat inside the boiler will accelerate the descaling process. Depending how badly scaled the boiler is, you may want to remove the wash/rinse arms on descale to allow chunks of limescale and calcium to pass, although you may want to allow one cycle to run through the arms to descale them inside. The longer the descale solution sits in the boiler the more it will break down the scale.
After you've finished your service, simply drain the equipment, refit the original hoses / setup to the dishwasher, run a dummy cycle to flush away the descale and that's it. The same process can be adopted to combi oven boilers, water urns, coffee machines, basically anything with a boiler.
Saves time, saves money, safe and easy to use...
And the beauty of this system is its safe to use for the engineer, it can be working while you carry on the rest of the service, you can show the customer the scale residue coming from the boiler, less time wasted on descaling and no more stripping equipment down reducing the costs for both you and the customer. For a small investment, the savings are great and customer satisfaction will be guaranteed.
